Saturday, March 15th– Come visit an authentic rustic agricultural area famous for it’s sopa da pedra. A route through the Ribatejo montado that follows along one of tributaries of the Tejo river. Natural viewpoints with panoramic views over the Ribeira de Muge valley can seen as we pass by small fields of farmland, orchards, local vineyards for home produced wine and typical villages with single story houses. At the end of the walk will have lunch in a traditional restaurant where you can enjoy sopa da pedra and other specialties. After lunch we will visit a 19th century house museum with unique architecture and a vast collection of paintings, sculptures, and decorative arts.
Moderate Level 2 – Accessible to those who are in good physical health and who are used to walking. On the route we may encounter some steeper differences in level and areas where the ground may be more difficult and uneven.
Must Take – 1.5L Water, Hat, Sunscreen, Lunch, Shoes with good grip for hiking, Clothing appropriate for the weather conditions.
