Saturday October 19th, Explore the world capital of cork Coruche on paths from the valley to the montado. The walk starts out from a charming traditional village full of tranquility and natural beauty, where examples of typical rural houses can be seen. Then continues through the agricultural plains of the Sorraia River Valley along dirt paths which takes us to the montado where a mix of cork oaks and stone pine trees are abundant. The route also passes by an old coal mine, private vegetable gardens and a viewpoint where panoramic views of the Erra valley and Sorraia floodplians can be enjoyed. At the end of the walk we will visit a local art festival upon returning to Lisbon.
Moderate Level 2 – Accessible to those in good physical health and who are used to walking. On the route we may encounter some steeper differences in level and areas where the ground may be more difficult and uneven.
Must Take – 1.5L Water, Hat, Sunscreen, Lunch, Shoes with good grip for hiking, Clothing appropriate for the weather conditions.
