Alpiarça Sorraia Horse Reserve

Sunday, Nov 24th, Come on a walk through the pure and relaxed landscape of the Ribatejo. Enjoy the autumn colors as we walk along the Sorraia river, through agricultural fields, vineyards, and pass by sugar cane fields. Observe and learn about a local breed of horse that is in danger of extinction and is being preserved in it’s natural environment. We will also visit a remarkable architectural complex designed in 1904 that is considered to be an important legacy of national culture. After the hike we will have lunch in a traditional restaurant where we can try the village specialties.

Distance/Duration: 10.5km/2.5-3hrs

Moderate Level 2 – Accessible to those in good physical health and who are used to walking. On the route we may encounter some steeper differences in level and areas where the ground may be more difficult and uneven.

Must Take – 1.5L Water, Hat, Sunscreen, snack, Shoes with good grip for hiking, Clothing appropriate for the weather conditions.

Event will only take place if it receives a Minimum of 4 Participants
